Crazy Relationships


1) Tasks for the week

1. Self study: "10 warning signs of an abusive relationship" and "What is a crush?"

2. Study for Quiz #3 "Crazy Relationships".

3. We'll continue with oral tests.

2) Homework:

Write a 1.5 page essay about any of these topics:
a. What are you looking for in a person you want to be with?
b. Like Me, Date Me: Can a Facebook like lead to a real-world love?
c. How would you deal with a broken heart?

Starting a New Civilization

Tasks for the week:



Homework:

1) To write a 1 page suvival plan to survive a zombie mayhem.

2) Oral Test.

I'll post a list of job descriptions on the whiteboard and become the employer (interviewer) from a company; you the applicant for a position. During our 5 m job interview you should be able to address my questions in relation to: skills and abilites; strengths and weaknesses; achievements; interests; experience (if any); etc.

Work on a resume if you want, this is not mandatory but it may help to improve your self-awareness.

Thirst: The quarrel of water


Dear students,

No class on February 5th, we're back on February 12th.


1) Tasks for the week:

  • Quiz #2: Study L.P. #4 "Thirst" vocabulary. The quiz is on February 12th.
  • Don't miss our next class! We'll have our 1st TOEFL Practice.
  • According to a student survey, these were the 8 most important inventions.


2) Homework:

Answer to the following questions:

a) How will our lives change if water was scarce in our community?

b) What did I learn from the debate?

c) What was my role-play? How was my opinion affected by this discussion?

d) Historically water has been viewed as a shared common, but do you think of it as: a human right or a market commodity that can be bought and sold? Explain your answer.

Avoid "yes / no" type answers, try to always justify your reasoning!
